Hill Top holds a place in the hearts of generations of Christian Scientists who value the significant contribution of Hill Top to the Chicago area Christian Science community. Over the past 70 years, Hill Top has evolved with the goal of answering the needs of the times by providing high-quality, professional Christian Science nursing care for the greater Chicago area.

Hill Top Center is the Metropolitan Chicago-based non-profit LLC umbrella organization which supports the activities of Christian Science nursing as outlined in the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy, (Article 8: section 23).

 

The Purpose of Hill Top

According to its Articles of Incorporation, is "to establish and maintain a civic, charitable, benevolent and philanthropic enterprise which provides Christian Science nursing care for those who rely on Christian Science as explained in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. Hill Top Center has such powers as are now or may hereafter be granted by the General Not For Profit Corporation Act of the State of Illinois."

A Subsidiary LLC of Hill Top Center

Hill Top Center currently supports the work of its subsidiary organization Visiting Christian Science Nursing Care of Greater Chicago. This includes hiring, education and deployment of Christian Science Journal-listed Christian Science nurses to meet the needs of individuals relying on Christian Science treatment.

Board of Directors

The affairs of Hill Top Center are managed by a Board of Directors, consisting of 5-10 individuals elected for three-year terms. Directors are members in good standing of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, MA and one of its branches; and who subscribe to the Tenets and By-Laws of the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy; and who have received primary class instruction in Christian Science from an authorized teacher. The Board of Hill Top Center meets at least four times each year.

The Officers of Hill Top Center are elected annually by a majority vote of the Board of Directors and consist of President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. The Board of Directors may be contacted here: Board@visitingcsnursingchicago.org.
